One of the things I don’t like in winter, is that everyone wears dark colours. I try to combine them with coloured nails, but they still are in darker tints than I use when it’s warmer. In spring and summer, I go total loss with colour(s) and nail art. Here are some of my spring nails!
Some weeks after Easter, we still have chocolate eggs left. That’s what inspired me for this manicure: dark blue NYC 208 Pier17 and dots: NYC 258 Prospect park pink and Herome 501. I tried some different dots on my nails: some are perfectly symmetrical, but others are more egg-shaped or bigger than others. The nail polish lasted four days before it started to peel off a little, so I wore it for six days until they weren’t beautiful anymore.
This was kind of an improvisation manicure. I wanted to paint my nails with this Kiko nail lacquer 389, but when I did some nails I thought it’d be better to add another colour, so that’s why I painted one nail white on both hands (Hema long lasting 809) and pink ‘lines’ on it (I don’t really know how to call them 🙂 ). As I wrote in another post, I really like Kiko, and this nail polish is exactly as I expected it to be: easy to apply, lasts long and has a bright colour. I have been able to leave it on for seven days before it started to peel off!
Third manicure: Kiko nail lacquer 336 for the dots and Rimmel London Pro 312 ultra violet. I tried to paint simple flowers on some of my nails, which I think went well :). They’re not perfect flowers, but I like them when they’re not exactly as they ‘have to be’ and still are beautiful. The Rimmel nail brush is really thick, which makes it easy to paint a whole nail in one second. It lasted four days before I had to get it off my nails, which is good to me, but can be longer (you see why I prefer Kiko 🙂 ).
The last one isn’t really an example of nail art, I just added a top coat of Yes Love (631), on a Hema long lasting 814. The top coat is really thick and it’s difficult to get enough glitters on a nail. But, it looks really great and gives glamour to simple pink nails! It has small glitters as well as big ones in it, which makes it even more attractive to use (do you feel my excitement? 🙂 ). The Hema nail polishes last three to four days, but of course the ones with the glitter topcoat lasted longer.
I hope you like my spring manicures and are encouraged to try one yourself!
Lots of Love,
