As I told you in my first post, I will try to write a monthly post about the books. Here I am, with the first one: What I read: april! I don’t always read classics or literature, but this month I chose to read two: one from Mark Twain and one from Jane Austen.
Mansfield Park is a book from Jane Austen, which I really enjoyed reading. It is about Fanny Price, who is sent to live with her aunt, nieces and nephews. I won’t tell too much about the story, but a lot happens to the different families. I looked up a family tree when I started reading, because I barely understood chapter1. There are so many characters! But when I understood how the families were built, I really liked this book.
Loin des mosquées (“Far from mosques”) is a French book written by Armel Job about the Muslim culture. I had to read it for school because we have to learn the synthesis for our exams. Although I normally do not like these obligated books, I really liked this one! It’s about a fixed marriage where the man was in love with another girl before his marriage, which gives a lot of problems in their families. The story is told from different perspectives, which I really like. You sometimes read about an event that you already know about from other characters, but it’s explained in a different style and way of thinking. This makes it very interesting, I think.
The adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a book from Mark Twain. It’s the last book I read this month, and it isn’t a really serious book, because it’s told by a young boy. While reading, you discover a lot of spoken language that is written wrongly, because the boy Finn, is so young. This made me feel like him, telling in a childish and excited way everything about his adventures. I don’t know if all the books from this author are written in the same style, but I will surely read some more of him to find out!
This was my first what I read post! Have you already read one of these books? Or what did you read past month? I would be glad to know :).
Lots of Love,
