As I already told you, I prefer colourful nail arts or nails in bright colours. I have quite some formal occasions coming up, where it’s better to wear neutral and classy nails that are not too eye-catching. I have already had my piano exams, and my oral exams and graduation are coming up. I am going to graduate after 10 years from music academy. I have a fancy dress up party coming up and a marriage in august, so enough occasions to have classy nails! I tried out a few, let’s take a look at them :).
There’s a post about the yellow bomber jacket (on the first photo) here.
For this manicure I used the Catrice 63 Mint the gap and Kiko 507. As I told you in my post about Kiko, I love this Italian cosmetic brand. I had to use two layers to have an optimal effect, but I like the stylish nude-pink colour very much. Same thing with the Catrice nail lacquer, the silver nail gives an extra to this manicure, which I think updated my outfit in a classy way :).
These nails are a little more playful, but I think they’re stylish though. You can of course never do anything wrong with a greyish colour! I’m quite fast bored when I only paint my nails in one colour, so that’s why I added some gold and white dots. The main gray colour is Hema 848. I thought the colour would be a little lighter, which would probably better to wear in summer. I like the darker effect though, and with the white from Kiko 203 and 2B Nailartliner 08 (more about this one farther in this post) it still is a lovely manicure for formal summer occasions.
This manicure looked better in my head than it did in reality, but okay. I used Essence nudes 05 Pure soul for it. This nail polish doesn’t cover at all: I’ve used three layers and you can still look completely through them. I covered them up with half moons in Catrice’s 08 Goldbusters. This nail polish is also a little see-through but because it’s gold I don’t see it as a real problem. I think I’m going to try this with another nude colour, and maybe it will come out better. If you guys tried this out and have a better result, please let me know :). (I took this photo while I was studying because I thought it might be funny to tell you about nails for exams and then post a photo of nails with a biology summary. Whatever 🙂 )
I am a big fan of french manicures, which you can see on the second photo. I’m sorry for the bad quality, I paint french nails so much I don’t take pictures of it anymore! For normal french manicures I use Kiko 203, a special white liner for french nails. I wanted to do one extra glamourous this time: a golden one. I used the 2B nailart liner 08 golden glitters, and I absolutely love the result! The only drawback is that the nailart liner isn’t meant to be used on the tips of nails, so it doesn’t last that long, because the glitters make quite a thick layer. This is my favourite of the five in this post though :). (And this mani matches my lovely Keds! Check them out here
Hope you are inspired to do a similar nail art for a special occasion. If so, please let me know, and tips are always welcome! (If you are having exams, I wish you good luck for all of them #yeswecan!)
Lots of Love,
