For me, there are two types of summer nails: bright coloured ones, or lighter colours, named pastels. In this post, I will tell you about the pastel nails I tried out the past weeks.
This one is a basic that I do practically every summer, but with other colours. I like having five different colours on my nails, just like that, without any nail art or accent. Although it’s colourful, it is still simple because the colours are so light. I especially like this one when I am on vacation when it’s really warm! The nail polishes I used are: Kiko Frozen smoothies 012 (review in my post about Kiko), Hema 443, Kiko 507, Essence 150 and Hema 731.
I bought this Catrice pastel blue colour last week, and I’m so in love with it! (The colour is number 113 and is named You R On My Mint 🙂 The names of Catrice’s products are always so cute!) It’s light but not too light, and Catrice has good quality nail polishes. To make it a little more special, I added a top coat with stripes on my ring finger. This topcoat always makes me think of sprinkled donuts, because the sprinkles in the nail polish look exactly like it. They’re white, so subtle, just like the pastel blue itself. This manicure is absolutely my favourite!
The last one I did has a bit more colour, I choose for a pink colour, Hema nail polish 814. It actually isn’t a real pastel, that’s why I added the pastel ombre topcoat from Essence (number 27). Every layer that you add, the colour becomes lighter and more pastel defined, so you can for example use a different amount of layers on every nail. I added on every nail one coat, which I think was enough to make it look lighter. Lastly, I painted one nail on each hand with a nail art, with the same blue Catrice coat as in the previous mani. I made stripes on my left hand accent nail, and dots on my right hand. (I like the fact of having not two identical hands, and I wasn’t sure if I would succeed in painting stripes on my right hand because I’m right handed 😉) The blue, yellow and green polishes are the same polishes I used in the two previous manicures.
So, those were the ones I tried out so far, but i’m sure I will try some more and maybe buy some other pastel colours :). Do you like pastel nails? And what do you think of the ones I tried out?
Lots of Love,
